Riley Troy, professional helicopter pilot in the Gulf of Mexico, former Silverhawk student and instructor

My name is Riley Troy. I attended Silverhawk Aviation Academy from 2007-2009. After graduation, I had the opportunity to teach at Silverhawk. During this time, I was able to build hours, expand on what I had already learned, and make valuable connections in the aviation field. I now fly as a light ship VFR captain in the Gulf of Mexico with PHI. Before, I flew VIP and corporate transport throughout the Caribbean islands, including Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, Bahamas, and the US Virgin Islands. I could not be happier with my choice in aviation schools, and Silverhawk definitely played a big part to help me get where I am today. There are many factors to consider when choosing a school; scheduling, maintenance, climate, aircraft, certifications, safety, and level of instruction. The more schools I have had the opportunity to see makes me realize how well Silverhawk’s training program works, and how well it prepares you for a professional pilot career. I have been in many situations in the commercial world and it is a relief to know I was trained properly to fly safely and execute the right decisions. I would definitely recommend Silverhawk to anyone wanting to do helicopter flight training. You will be treated like family, complete your goals, and have a lot of fun, all while in a safe and professional environment.
