Record Breaking Year for Robinson

In 2005 Robinson manufactured 806 new helicopters, which is the most civil helicopters ever produced in one year by an individual company. The previous record of civil helicopters manufactured in one year was set by Bell Helicopters in 1980, which also held the single series production record with its Bell 206.

Bell sold 780 total helicopters that year, 550 of which were in the 206 series. Robinson also broke that record by completing 563 helicopters of the R44 Raven series in 2005. In addition, the company delivered 243 new R22s.

The increase in Robinson sales is expected to continue as the Raven II maintains its popularity. To increase the Raven II's appeal, Robinson has added some new options including air conditioning for increased comfort in hot climates and a pilot side console for pilot convenience and safety. These have been well received and many look forward to further advances from RHC.
