Shaun Powell
CFI
My name is Shaun. I'm originally from Eastern Idaho. I have a wife and three beautiful little girls. I love spending time with them and watching the girls grow. My hobbies include working on our family cabin, fixing motorcycles and cars, and any other project to keep me from driving my wife crazy.

In 2008, I found myself frustrated with my career. I wanted to find something I could feel passionate about. About this same time, my little brother returned from working a summer-job in Alaska as a ramp-hand for a helicopter company. Grumbling about my job, he responded, "Hey, you should be a helicopter pilot!" The rest is history. My perspective on life and work has completely changed. I genuinely love what I'm doing.

The Silverhawk family is not limited to the students attending. Our former students are now FAA examiners, chief pilots, operators, and career professionals. The networking opportunities are great. Our school has a solid reputation in the helicopter industry of producing safe and skilled pilots.

It can be difficult rearranging your life and figuring out the finances to make it all happen, but it's worth it. It's important to do what you love. If you're serious about becoming a pilot, you'll make it work!.
