A Wedding Entrance You Don’t Forget: Bryant & Sarah

Some wedding entrances are memorable. Others are unforgettable.
Bryant isn’t new to helicopters. He’s a former instructor here at Silverhawk. After completing his training, he went on to teach others, and later became one of our charter pilots, flying the R66. He’s one heck of a pilot, and a humble one at that.
In the same R66 he regularly flew at Silverhawk, Bryant made his entrance at the beautiful Ste. Chapelle Winery… and then he and the awesome Sarah tied the knot.
Here’s a look at their day, in their own words.
Whose idea was it?
Bryant brought it up originally, and Sarah worked it into the plan and budget.
Was it always the plan or a last-minute decision?
Our first conversation when we began wedding planning was outlining our priorities, which turned to weighing factors in how we would budget. The most important priority we both had was: we wanted at least one great photo from the day that we could put on the entryway table for our future kids to see every day.
Eventually, we dreamed this up to be a photo of us leaving our wedding in a helicopter. We toured three venues and asked if they would permit us to land in a helicopter, planned it with them, and everything worked out.
Spoiler: we got the perfect wedding photos.
What made it feel “right” for you two?
We both love sharing novel and adventurous experiences together. Our wedding day was romantic for sure, but we also wanted it to be cool. So, we played a lot of rock and roll music and arrived and left in a helicopter.
What was the landing moment like?
We saw each other that morning, but other than that, we did a classic wedding where we don't see each other until the aisle.
Bryant flew the helicopter in like a boss, and after he landed our photographer got his solo and groomsmen photos with it in the background, which made for some pretty rad photography.
Favorite parts of the day?
Our favorite parts of the day were the moments we spent together. Sarah’s favorite was the ceremony, and Bryant loved the run we went on that morning.
When the helicopter arrived, Sarah remembers running up the hill in her wedding dress to hide once she heard the rotors, laughing because it meant her future husband had arrived. Later, she and her bridal party peeked out second-story windows, checking out the boys near the helicopter. It was a really fun part of the day.
Did anything surprise you about the entrance?
Nope. Sarah planned everything with a color-coded Excel sheet. There wasn’t much room for surprises. Our family and friends thought it was super cool, though.
Would you recommend it to other couples?
Definitely!
Honestly, the moment we left the ground felt like “time zero” (when our marriage really began). Leaving in a helicopter together allowed us to literally ride off into the sunset. Instead of driving away and immediately turning out of sight, we circled the venue and watched our loved ones get smaller and smaller as they waved us goodbye.
We booked the helicopter because we thought it would be fun for just the two of us, but afterward our guests said it was their favorite part of the day. In that moment, at the end of our perfect day, we felt the most special and loved, holding hands in the sky, watching the Chalk Hills painted gold as we flew into our new beginning.
Anything you’d like to add?
All our vendors were incredible. They worked together seamlessly, because we hired Ste Chapelle's recommend caterer. The wine was incredible and our servers even gave our guests huckleberry champagne upon arrival!
We highly recommend our ultra-organized, tireless, and incredibly diligent wedding coordinator, Fawn Marie Events. She went above and beyond for us, and we cannot thank her enough.
Last but not least, our biggest thanks goes to Silverhawk for making our wedding the coolest wedding of all time. Our helicopter pilot, Bobby, made the flight home such a fun experience, and his landing was perfectly smooth. Thank you, Bobby and Silverhawk!
A huge thank you to Bryant and Sarah for including us in such a meaningful part of their day. It was an honor to be part of it, and we’re so glad everything came together just as they had envisioned.
If you’re dreaming up something unique for your own special day, we’d love to help make it happen!
